Most people have heard the term 'Chakra'. They may think of it as just part of all that New Age carry on. But a Chakra is merely a word to describe a swirling vortex within our energy fields. And if that sounds a bit weird to you then you haven't been keeping up with the latest scientific discoveries.
Scientists since Einstein, (who theorized that all matter is energy and everything in the universe is drawn together by a web of interconnecting energy,) have known about and studied energy fields. Sheldrake's Morphogenic Resonance Theory, the medical research of people like Einthoven and Berger who have established that organs, such as the heart and brain, produce bioelectric fields.
When conductors like wires or living tissue carry electrical currents, the surrounding space emits a magnetic field. The space around the living tissue of the human body is now being called the biomagnetic fields. Or more simply - energy fields.
Within these biomagnetic fields are spinning whirlpools of this energy. And there are countless numbers of these throughout the body- all feeding into the seven largest vortices. These seven are what we usually call the Chakras and they have been associated with the colours of the light spectrum.
Each chakra effectively draws into the body's energy field energy from the 'interconnecting web' Einstein spoke of, and then sucks out 'old' energy from our body's field - a bit like how air-conditioning works.
If our chakras worked properly all the time then we'd all be perfectly healthy and happy. The trouble is they don't and so we aren't.
Quite often the chakras become blocked by the debris of our lives- emotions, environmental pressures, physical abuse like toxins in our food... they all add up to those spinning vortexes not spinning the way they should.
So, just like our body needs to be cleaned of debris by bathing, so the chakra system needs to be cleaned and cleared of the debris that stops it performing its job properly.
There is a whole new breed of healers who are working with the energy fields to bring about optimal health and a lot of their work involves these chakras.
Vibrational Medicine or Energy healing may seem a bit airy-fairy but the more we find out about these energy fields and how they work the more the sense behind these new kinds of holistic healing methods makes.
But you don't have to go to a therapist to stay healthy, although it's probably a good idea to see a good energy healer if you aren't healthy to start with. It works really well in combination with mainstream medical practices.
To maintain your chakras, you can work on yourself energetically by visualizing these chakras and imagining them being cleansed. Those who have a belief in a Higher Power, such as Angels, can ask for their assistance to clear them.
The fact is, there is a lot of high vibrational energy 'muscle' out there just waiting to help us with our energy work. It's only a matter of asking for the help and finding the best way it works for you
